Les misérables: the staged concert watch full length tv. The cast of "Les Miserables: The Staged Concert, " coming to your local cinema on December 11. Trafalgar Releasing If you missed Les Miserables: The Staged Concert at your local movie theater on Sunday, you have another chance to see it on Wednesday, December 11. But don’t wait until tomorrow comes to buy your tickets because it’s one of the most exciting – and yet somehow intimate and emotional – nights you will experience in a theater of any kind. Even if you, like 120 million people, have seen the show before, you will be blown away. Filmed on the final night of an epic, sold-out 16-week limited run at the Gielgud Theatre on London’s West End, Cameron Macintosh’s latest version of the iconic show is breathtaking. Even though Les Miserables has been playing pretty much non-stop somewhere in the world since it premiered in 1985, it feels as relevant as ever. The cast of "Les Miserables: The Staged Concert. " Michael Le Poer Trench It says a lot when you can be so moved by a production that basically involves the cast singing the story in their costumes but with nary a prop in sight. That’s a tribute to the perfect staging as well as the world-class actors and, of course, the unparalleled music and lyrics. There’s a reason Les Miserables is The World’s Longest Running Musical. Audiences can’t get enough of the story, based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, and the beloved soundtrack by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Herbert Kretzmer. In Les Miserables: The Staged Concert, not one of the 65 actors hits a wrong note. Michael Ball and Alfie Boe are outstanding as Javert and Jean Valjean, respectively. They take over these characters so fully and passionately, it is impossible not to be invested in their stories. Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables: The Staged Concert. " Matt Murphy In the San Diego theater where I saw Les Miserables: The Staged Concert, Carrie Hope Fletcher, as Fantine, and Shan Ako, as Eponine, brought the audience to tears when they sang – and that’s in a movie theater watching on a screen. You do get the whole almost three hour experience, including a 10 minute intermission. (This is a good time to opt for the large popcorn and drink, so you can take advantage of the free refills then. ) Plus, most viewers will have a way better view of the show than if they had actually seen it live — and at a fraction of a price. I wish every show would give the public an opportunity to experience live theater this way. You will root for Cosette (Lily Kerhoas) and Marius (Rob Houchen), and grieve for the adorable Gavroche (Logan Clark). Matt Lucas and Katy Secombe are hilarious as Monsieur Thénardier and Madame Thénardier, the Master and Mistress of the House, who provide the comic relief. In a production flooded with talent, the real star, to me, was Bradley Jaden as Enjolras. His performance was just riveting, and I literally couldn’t take my eyes off him whenever he was on stage. I’m so excited for his next role, which you’ll learn about at the end of the show. Bradley Jaden as Enjolras - Photograph Matt Murphy What makes this whole experience even richer and more personal is being there for this final performance. We get to know some of the cast members, old and new, and enjoy some surprises that I’m not going to spoil here.
