Military Wives is as formulaic as movies go, regardless the film is surprisingly good and it uses the formula really well. However it never aspires to be anything else preventing it from becoming a classic amongst the genre.
I haven't been familiar with the true story but from the start, you just know where it is all gonna go. It still works well but nothing is a surprise because of that. It still has some great moments and a fair amount of heart
It is seriously enjoyable and it is a likeable movie with a great cast. Kristen Scott Thomas and Sharon Horgan are great here.
I'm sure there are many people who will like this film. I just can't see that much greatness in it. It's formulaic and does it's best to be a lovely and charming film but it does it in such a manipulative way, and I hate it when films do that. It is still worth watching though.

She says oh they are my friends. I get bored and lonely while you're gone so I go out and drink with them and stuff. He told her to stop hanging out with them she said she would. 3 months or so go by and she messes up. He found out through MySpace (yeah this happened a while ago) that she was still hanging out these guys after she posted a picture. Needless to say he wasn't very happy. Experience has taught me what walks like a duck and quacks like a duck is a duck. Don't know what happened I left that ship before I found out but I'm sure she was getting plenty of company from those Marines. If she wouldn't stop for the sake of her marriage then what would stop her from doing worse? She could have got female friends. Nope. Only hung out with the guys. Ok two more quick ones. Neither of us were married but we were engaged. I dated a woman for two and a half years. Mind you I'm young and in love so yeah naturally I was dumb (never saw her apartment once. Anyway she ends up leaving for another guy and breaks my heart. Come to find out through a mutual acquaintance she was married all along. She even has an 8 year old kid. My bro was going to propose to his high school sweet heart when he got home from Iraq. She left him for his best friend. What kind of a twisted person leaves someone while they are in harms way every minute of every day? If your head isn't in it that can lead to mistakes that can end your life. Go MGTOW boys before it's too late. 15:49 yeah that's the military court system. You think the civilian courts favor women oh boy. The military figures even if the guy gets screwed over he still gets 3 hots and a cot. The woman is on her own. #heartlesswomen.

I once told on my navy chief's wife. I had broken my ankle during huh well alcohol was involved but anywho I had to stay behind for two months and on the first night of the deployment for my ship my chief's wife had gone from introverted to becoming a social butterfly at this hole in the wall bar. She didn't know it was me had she actually cared to talk to people that get introduced to her by chief. I had taken pictures and emailed them to my chief and sure enough he had called me from the public phone 5 a minute FYI telling me to hold those pictures that he was going to get a helicopter to fly him back to handle it. Sure enough chief got divorced and said I was in eternal debt to him that all my drinks were covered for a shame but I don't drink anymore. So yeah the ex wife got married to another chief from base and just as quick she was back on base getting free medical and dental.
